What seasons are you taking?
We take Fall/Winter Items July 1st-January 31st and Spring/Summer February 1st-June 30th.
What days are appointments?
Carroll Gardens Appointments are: Tuesday, Wednesday, Sunday
Park Slope Appointments are: Monday, Thursday, Sunday
How do I make an appointment?
When do I receive login information?
All of your accepted items will be priced within 2-6 weeks after your initial appointment. After the items are priced, you will be sent a list of all accepted items and their prices. In addition to that list, you will be sent the information to login to your Owl Tree account so you can track your sales!
I don’t see any appointments? Can I get one earlier?
Our appointments fill up quickly - however - we get cancellations all the time. We suggest you check our calendar the night before appointment days to grab a last minute cancellation.
How long does it take to price my items?
Although we typically price all items within 2-4 weeks, in some cases it may take up to 6 weeks.
When do I receive a payout?
Once an item sells, you will receive store credit immediately. Should you choose to be paid out for consignment it will be paid by the end of the following month. For example; an item sells on March 13th, you will receive payment for that item by April 30th.
Can I use store credit online?
Of course! To use store credit online:
- Add all items in the cart, when finished shopping click view cart
- In the cart, scroll down and click use store credit
- You will log into your account (if it is your first time logging in, your password is your email- you can change this after logging in)
- Type the amount you want to spend
- Click submit, Then checkout
- Fill out any additional information and you are good to go!
Should you have any issues at all, please don't hesitate to reach out and a member of our store can do it manually for you as well!
What condition should goods be in?
We require consigned items to be clean and odor-free. We will not accept any items with holes, tears, major stains, missing buttons or trim, or broken zippers. We have 5 condition levels we designate for all products:
- New: Items that Owl Tree has sourced directly from the manufacturer
- With Tags: Items that have never been worn & still have all original tags and/or packaging
- Excellent: Items are in pristine condition without tags attached
- Very Good: Items show minor signs of wear
- Play: Item has visible signs of wear, such as pilling and color fading. All imperfections will be noted. And if the item is accepted in ‘Play’ condition, it will be priced accordingly.
What brands & items are accepted?
We assess items based on a high standard of condition as well as saleability and aesthetic, however are no longer taking the following brands. Updates happen seasonally. We may start or stop taking a brand based on trends that differ from previous seasons. We may take some brands at one location that we don’t accept at the other.

How do I get my items for consignment to you?
You have 2 easy options. You can drop off in-person at our store in Brooklyn by making an appointment, or ship to Brooklyn Store (at consignor's expense) (available to non-Brooklyn residents only).
What happens after I get my items to consign to you?
After we receive your items and review for a final inspection, we will send you a summary of all items accepted. The processing time takes 2-6 weeks from the receipt of items. Once processed, all styles will go up for sale in our store, with a limited selection chosen for the site, while off-season styles will be moved to our warehouse until optimal seasonality. All items will receive a minimum of 90 days on the sales floor.
What happens after 90 days?
As of May 1st, 2023 all items taken in for consignment that are priced less than $49.00 will be donated if unsold after a minimum of 90 days in assortment. The return option will no longer be available for goods with a sale price below $49.00. For the small amount of items that do not pass a final inspection at pricing, we will also reach out to consignors for return or donation instructions.
What are Owl Tree’s consignment commission rates?
Our commission rate is 70% of the final net sales price for all items sold.
What are Owl Tree’s shipping options?
Owl Tree Kids provides free shipping for all orders over $50. Orders below $50 will be charged a flat shipping fee of $9. We ship within the 50 US states, via USPS ground.
What is your return policy?
Exchanges or returns for store credit are accepted within 14 days of receipt of goods, provided goods still have tags attached and are in original saleable condition. Customers must send a return request to service@owltreekids.com to receive a prepaid shipping label. The cost of shipping will be deducted from the final refund amount. Only return requests for defective products above normal wear and tear will be accepted after 14 days of receipt of goods.
